The trip is taking place on Saturday the 17th of april!
It is a very typical swiss excursion: All swiss children go to
Kaiseraugst with their parents or with school.
"Kaiseraugst" was founded by the Romans who gave the city its Latin
name "Augusta Raurica". It is famous for having the best-preserved
ancient Amphitheatre north of the Alps.
Schedule:
The trip starts at 10.40 in the morning.
We are meeting at the meeting point inside the mainstation (Basel
SBB); please buy a ticket beforehand.
We will go to Kaiseraugst by train. There we will have a guided tour
(in English), visit the museum and the old buildings outside.
At 1.30 PM we'll have lunch. Everyone should bring some food TO SHARE
(ham, cheese, vegetables, drinks, bread, fruits or whatever you like)
so that we can make a buffet and have a huge picknick together in the
countryside.
After lunch we will walk back to Basel (for those who are too lazy to
walk it's possible to return by the train). The beautiful hiking trail
« Rheinpfad » is following the Rhine and will take us about 2 hours
walking.
